This is a montage of images that were taken in March of 2009, more than three and a half years after Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, causing a storm serge that led to the death of over 1,836 people. Roughly 600,000 pets were killed or were left without a home as a result of Hurricane Katrina, while a reported 275,000 homes were lost as a result of the hurricane. As these images attest to, rebuilding post-Katrina has been a painfully slow process.
